Cheap Walmart Seat Covers for a Ford C-Max Hybrid

I picked these up at Walmart for $35 / pair. They seem OK and are airbag safe. They are not a perfect fit since they could be a bit longer for the backs, but they will work. They say they are airbag safe also, and since the seats have the "airbag" tag on them it is probably a good thing. I did see some Dickies seat covers at WallyMart which I was about to buy, but then noticed they did not say airbag safe, so I guess some of the covers out there are not. These come with some cheap plastic clips which I was initially planning to use, but after looking under the seats it appears that Ford has provided plenty of clips which would work perfect for seat covers, no hooks required.
The tops of the back of the covers has a cheesy tie off closure which really sucks. I did not want to tie a knot since I know I will not be using these long term and want to be able to get them off easy, so I used a barrel lock to secure the loose ends and cinch down the opening at the top of the seat and also keep the head rest covers on.
As you can see by the pics below the results are not spectacular, and they look a bit loose, but they are on pretty good. One (of several) drawbacks of these is that there are no straps to hold the seat bottom down in the front, only at the back so the front is just secured with the elastic which I think could become loose. These do have a flap which is pushed into the gap between the back and bottom of the seat to hold the cover on in that area, but due to the design of the seats the flap cannot be connected with the seat back, it does keep stuff in place though.
I am gonna have to make a cover for the center console lid as well since that is too nice to leave un-protected.
Overall I am happy with them for the price, the are no Wet Okoles but they will do to keep the dog hair off the seats and keep them generally protected. Once there are quality fitted covers available I will probably replace these, but that could be a while. One thing to note about cheap seat covers and nylon covers in general is that they do generate a static charge pretty easily so ground out before fueling up - good idea anyway.
