There is a new firmware for the Pentax Q which they say will help improve AF performance and fix some stability problems. I had been running v1.10 with no issues, but thought I would give the new one a try. You can get it here.

The mutt had to get out, and a walk was not gonna cut it, so we headed for the hills. I admit that the pics are not the best. I actually forgot to adjust the lens before some of the shots, but I really don't care, they captured what I wanted and we had a good time hiking. These were taken with a Pentax Q and the fish eye 03 lens (which happens to be the one usually on the camera).  This is the second NextTec 12V drill that started the clicks of death. I was not going to let this one go quietly into the light, so I decided to do some exploratory surgery. I did not find the problem, but amazingly it now works. There is now a suggested fix for the slipping selector switch wire, which is the likely cause of the problem, thanks to a a comment by Jeremy - Read more about it here.
