I covered the holes in the spacers with some screening material, but may change that to something with a finer mesh.
Front Panel Extender for a Silverstone FT03-MINI PC Case (Allows More Airflow for the Graphics Card)9/2/2022 This was supposed to be a simple project to provide a bit more airflow to my GPU which I have mounted in my Silverstone FT03-MINI PC Case. The FT03-MINI is a clean looking case (which looks like a small trash can), but airflow is not spectacular for the graphics card, which is mounted so the fans will face the front of the case with maybe a dozen mm of clearance. It also appears that the model may be discontinued, since I cannot seem to find it anywhere for sale. I had been running for years on my old GPU in this case, and I'm sure it suffered a bit even though I don't game much (I had to replace it when it began to revert to safe mode and have other issues). When I installed a new card recently, I realized that a spacer could be made to extend the front plate for the case and allow some extra space for the graphics cards fans to pull in cool air. Unfortunately, due to some complex profiles, the project got more complicated than it should have been, with several iterations for the mounting adapters. But it's almost done now, and most of the parts are installed and fit, with the last part on the printer currently. Once issue I ran into though, which I need to keep in mind for next time, is that one part had to be printed flat on the bed (on the diagonal), and was very long (388mm), but the printed part was 387mm. I believe this could be due to shrinking (PETG), but need to dig into that a bit more. I don't think it's my steps/mm. I should have printed a quick test part of the same length before running the parts, so I could have made some scaling adjustments to get the parts right, since this caused problems later in the build. I covered the holes in the spacers with some screening material, but may change that to something with a finer mesh. Update: 9/4/2022 It's done and looks great. One of the screw holes needs a bit of an adjustment but I didn't need it anyway. I'm not sure I will post this one since it's such an oddball thing for a PC case that is discontinued.
